Railroad buffs come to the state of Colorado to ride the many steam and narrow gauge trains still operating. Locally we enjoy the narrow gauge train from Cripple Creek, CO, to Victor, CO; the "Royal Gorge Route" follows the most famous portion of the Old Denver & Rio Grande through the Royal Gorge; and nearby is the George Town Loop. Manitou Springs offers the world famous Pikes Peak Cog Wheel Railway only minutes by Colorado Avenue or you may choose a scenic drive through the Garden of the Gods. The Cog Wheel Railway is a must for any Colorado visitor to view the purple mountain majesty of Pikes Peak (for the little kid in all of us, Santa Clause can be found at the foot of our famous mountain). The Pikes Peak Highway offers an exhilarating drive to the Summit. Race car fans of all ages thrill to the Pikes Peak Auto Hill Climb on July 4th up Pikes Peak Highway--not for the faint of Heart! The Pikes Peak International Raceway is also just minutes away. There are plenty of exciting activities and attractions to fill up your vacation in Colorado Springs. Our CO getaway and vacation specials open the door to so many possibilities; we’re sure you’ll find package that suits your needs perfectly! |
